    SEE ALSO...

SSX Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SSX protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SSX antibody (C-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SSX protein plays a crucial role as a transcriptional repressor, particularly in synovial sarcoma, where SSX is involved in the t(x;18) translocation that leads to the formation of SYT-SSX fusion proteins. These fusions result in the production of potent transcriptional activators that contribute to tumorigenesis. SSX proteins, classified as cancer/testis antigens, are primarily localized in the nucleus and are expressed in the testis as well as various cancers, making SSX proteins significant targets for cancer immunotherapy. SSX proteins in synovial sarcomas, which account for up to 10% of soft tissue sarcomas, highlight their importance in cancer diagnostics and treatment strategies. Genetic analysis has shown that biphasic synovial sarcomas typically harbor SYT-SSX1 fusions, while monophasic variants are associated with SYT-SSX2 fusions, providing valuable insights into the molecular characterization of these tumors.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-166595 X be used instead of the standard form sc-166595?

    Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
