SRMS Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SRMS in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SRMS monoclonal antibody (E-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SRMS, also known as src-related kinase lacking C-terminal regulatory tyrosine and N-terminal myristylation sites, is a 488 amino acid nonreceptor tyrosine-protein kinase that plays a crucial role in keratinocyte differentiation and proliferation. SRMS (E-5) antibody recognizes a protein structure that includes one Src homology 3 (SH3) domain, one Src homology 2 (SH2) domain, and one protein kinase domain, which are essential for cellular signaling pathways. The SH3 domain mediates interactions with other proteins, often linking activated growth factors to downstream signaling molecules. This interaction regulates cellular processes, while the SH2 domain binds to tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins, influencing signal transduction. Alterations in the SH3 domain can activate the transforming potential of nonreceptor tyrosine kinases, indicating its role in negative regulation of intrinsic transforming activity.

Can SRMS (E-5): sc-376223 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, SRMS (E-5): sc-376223 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
