SREBP-1 Antibody (2A4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SREBP-1 protein of mouse, rat, human, and hamster origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC). SREBP-1 (2A4) antibody is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. SREBP-1 plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in the regulation of cholesterol levels within cells. SREBP-1 is synthesized as a precursor that resides in the nuclear envelope and endoplasmic reticulum, and when cellular sterol levels are low, SREBP-1 is cleaved to release a soluble fragment that translocates to the nucleus, where SREBP-1 activates the transcription of genes involved in lipid synthesis and uptake, including the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor.
