SEE ALSO...

SR-β Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SR-beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SR-beta (D-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SR-beta protein plays a crucial role in protein translocation by targeting nascent polypeptides to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), which is essential for proper protein folding and maturation. As a component of the signal recognition particle receptor (SRP), which consists of SR-alpha and SR-beta subunits, SR-beta is vital for interaction with ribosomes during cotranslational protein transport. The SRP complex, including GTPases SRP54, SR-alpha, and SR-beta, orchestrates protein delivery to the ER, ensuring correct processing and integration into cellular membranes. Precise regulation of this interaction is critical, as SR-alpha effectively scans membrane-bound ribosomes for signal recognition particle presence, facilitating efficient protein translocation into the ER.
