SEE ALSO...

Squalene synthetase Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Squalene synthetase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Squalene synthetase antibody (A-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Squalene synthetase plays a crucial role in cholesterol biosynthesis, catalyzing the conversion of transfarnesyl-diphosphate to squalene, which is the first specific step in the mevalonate pathway. Squalene synthetase is located in the endoplasmic reticulum and is essential for the production of isoprenoids, which are vital for various cellular functions, including membrane integrity and signaling. Squalene synthetase functions extend beyond cholesterol synthesis, as Squalene synthetase is also involved in the biosynthesis of other sterols and isoprenoids that are critical for cellular health and function. Squalene synthetase may interact with squalene epoxidase, a key enzyme in sterol biosynthesis, suggesting a collaborative role in regulating the pathway′s efficiency and output.
