SEE ALSO...

SPTLC2 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects SPTLC2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SPTLC2 antibody (G-4) is available as a non-conjugated format. SPTLC2, also known as serine palmitoyltransferase 2, plays a crucial role in sphingolipid biosynthesis, catalyzing the conversion of L-serine and palmitoyl-CoA into 3-oxosphinganine, a key precursor in the formation of complex sphingolipids. This process is vital for maintaining cellular membrane integrity and signaling, as sphingolipids are essential components of cell membranes and are involved in various cellular processes, including apoptosis, cell growth, and differentiation. Notably, dysregulation of SPTLC2 activity has been linked to several pathological conditions, including hereditary sensory neuropathy, atopic eczema, and psoriasis, highlighting the importance of SPTLC2 in both normal physiology and disease states. SPTLC2 (G-4) antibody serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of sphingolipid metabolism and its implications in health and disease.

Which secondary antibody hrp-conjugated do you recommend?

Asked by: LindaS
Thank you for your question. SPTLC2 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM. Therefore, we recommend using an isotype-specific anti-mouse IgM secondary antibody for detection. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any anti-mouse IgM secondary antibodies at this time. We are developing one now and hope to offer it very soon.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398704 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
