    SPR Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SPR protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SPR Antibody (A-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SPR (sepiapterin reductase) is a homodimeric cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), an essential cofactor for the hydroxylation of aromatic amino acids such as tryptophan, tyrosine, and phenylalanine. This enzymatic activity is vital for the proper synthesis of neurotransmitters, including dopamine, which is critical for maintaining neurological health. Mutations in the gene encoding SPR can lead to sepiapterin reductase deficiency, resulting in a monoamine neurotransmitter deficiency that does not present with hyperphenylalaninemia, and can cause serious conditions such as DOPA-responsive dystonia. Increased expression of SPR mRNA has been observed in the brains of patients with Parkinson′s Disease, indicating a potential involvement of SPR in the pathophysiology of this neurodegenerative disorder. Anti-SPR antibody (A-11) effectively detects and characterizes SPR protein, making this antibody an invaluable tool for research into both normal physiological processes and disease mechanisms.
