SEE ALSO...

SphK2 Antibody (9C5E1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the SphK2 protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SphK2 antibody (9C5E1) is available as a non-conjugated format. Sphingosine kinase 2 (SphK2) plays a crucial role in sphingolipid metabolism, catalyzing sphingosine phosphorylation to produce sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P), a bioactive lipid integral to various cellular processes. S1P functions as a signaling molecule influencing cell proliferation, survival, and migration, making S1P vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to external stimuli. SphK2 involvement extends to immune response regulation and potential cancer progression, where altered S1P signaling can contribute to tumor growth and metastasis. SphK2 localizes in the cytoplasm and can translocate to the plasma membrane, significant for signaling pathway function. SphK2 differential expression in various tissues, particularly upregulation in certain cancers, highlights SphK2 potential as a therapeutic target and disease progression biomarker.
