SPEC1 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SPEC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SPEC1 (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SPEC1 protein, also known as small protein effector 1 of Cdc42 or CDC42SE1, is a 79 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in the organization of the actin cytoskeleton by acting downstream of the small GTPase Cdc42. This interaction is vital for processes such as actin filament assembly and the modulation of cell shape, which are essential for various cellular functions, including cell adhesion and migration. SPEC1 is particularly important in activated T-cells, where SPEC1 may facilitate Cdc42-mediated accumulation of F-actin at the immunological synapse, thereby influencing T-cell activation and response. Additionally, SPEC1 is implicated in early contractile events during phagocytosis in macrophages, highlighting SPEC1′s role in immune responses. Containing a CRIB domain, SPEC1 is a member of the Cdc42SE/SPEC family and is widely expressed in different tissues, existing as two alternatively spliced isoforms, which may contribute to SPEC1′s diverse functional roles in cellular dynamics.
