SEE ALSO...

Spartin Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Spartin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Spartin (D-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Spartin protein plays a crucial role in microtubule dynamics and endosomal trafficking, which are essential processes for maintaining cellular structure and function. Specifically, Spartin contains a microtubule interacting and trafficking (MIT) domain that facilitates interaction with microtubules, thereby influencing intracellular transport and organization. Spartin is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels found in adipose tissue, highlighting importance in metabolic processes. Notably, a frameshift mutation in SPG20 is linked to spastic paraplegia 20, also known as Troyer syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by progressive weakness and stiffness in lower extremities due to retrograde axonopathy of corticospinal motor neurons. Spartin′s interaction with other proteins involved in these pathways underscores significance in both normal cellular function and disease mechanisms, making anti-Spartin antibody (D-4) a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.

What blocking solution should I use with Spartin (D-4): sc-271888 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
