    SEE ALSO...

SP-D Antibody (1A10A9) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects SP-D in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). SP-D (1A10A9) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile applications in research. SP-D, or Surfactant Protein D, plays a crucial role in the innate immune system, particularly in the lungs, where SP-D is primarily located in the alveoli. SP-D is essential for maintaining pulmonary homeostasis and is involved in the regulation of surfactant metabolism. SP-D functions as a collectin, a type of calcium-dependent lectin, which binds to carbohydrates on the surface of pathogens, facilitating their clearance and enhancing the immune response. SP-D′s ability to aggregate and opsonize pathogens not only aids in their removal but also helps modulate inflammatory responses, making SP-D vital for protecting the respiratory system from infections. SP-D′s interaction with various pathogens underscores SP-D′s importance in respiratory health, as SP-D helps prevent the onset of pneumonia and other pulmonary diseases.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using SP-D (1A10A9): sc-53138?

    Asked by: Trav11
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane.
