Sox-8 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sox-8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Sox-8 antibody (H-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sox-8 protein plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during development, particularly in differentiating various cell types. Sox-8 is primarily located in the nucleus, where Sox-8 functions as a transcription factor, binding to specific DNA sequences to modulate target gene transcription. Nuclear localization enables Sox-8 to interact with other transcriptional regulators and chromatin remodeling complexes, thereby influencing cell fate decisions. Sox gene family, which includes Sox-8, is known for evolutionary conservation and involvement in critical biological functions, including sex determination and central nervous system development. Sox-8 dysregulation has been implicated in various human diseases, highlighting Sox-8′s importance in both normal physiology and pathology.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great for ChIPCompared Santa Cruz SOX8 antibody (sc-374446) directly to Abcam's SOX8 antibody (ab104245) via ChIP on sheared chromatin followed by qPCR. Santa Cruz SOX8 antibody gave a 2-fold qPCR enrichment over negative control, whereas 8-fold enrichment was seen with Abcam SOX8 antibody. So, while it works great for Western Blotting, it seems inferior for ChIP applications.
