SEE ALSO...

sorcin Antibody (39-M) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects sorcin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-sorcin antibody (39-M) is available as a non-conjugated format. Sorcin is a highly conserved protein, exhibiting 95% homology between hamster and human sequences, and plays a crucial role in calcium signaling within cells. sorcin (39-M) antibody recognizes a protein containing four putative calcium-binding domains, two of which are closely related to the "EF hand" motifs found in calmodulin, highlighting its importance in calcium-dependent processes. Calcium binding enables sorcin′s translocation from the cytosol to cellular membranes in a calcium-dependent manner. This translocation is particularly significant in cardiac tissues, where sorcin modulates the activity of ryanodine receptors, thereby influencing calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum during muscle contraction. Sorcin is widely distributed in various tissues, including the heart and brain, and is localized to T-tubule junctions of cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum, underscoring its vital role in cardiac physiology and calcium homeostasis.
