SEE ALSO...

SOD-1 Antibody (24) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SOD-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SOD-1 antibody (24) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Cu-Zn superoxide dismutase-1 (SOD-1) protein plays a crucial role in cellular defense against oxidative stress by catalyzing the dismutation of superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen, thereby protecting cells from damage caused by reactive oxygen species. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis, particularly in tissues with high metabolic rates, such as the brain and muscles. SOD-1 is predominantly located in the cytosol and functions as a homodimer, which is essential for stability and activity. Mutations in the SOD-1 gene have been linked to severe neurological disorders, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), where the loss of antioxidant function leads to increased oxidative damage and neurodegeneration. Understanding SOD-1 and its interactions with other proteins involved in oxidative stress response is critical for developing therapeutic strategies against these debilitating diseases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by omarl from Works well for me at 1:2,000Pretty consistent immunoblotting below my 25kDa marker. Works well. I used 1:2,000. It could be optimized to use less antibody.
