Smurf1 Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Smurf1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Smurf1 antibody (C-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Smurf1, a member of the Hect family of proteins, plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway by functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase. Smurf1 (C-11) monoclonal antibody enables research into how Smurf1 regulates the degradation of receptor-regulated SMADs, particularly those involved in the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathway. By selectively catalyzing the transfer of ubiquitin to these SMADs, Smurf1 facilitates their recognition and subsequent degradation by the 26S proteasome, thereby modulating cellular responses to BMP signals. The precise regulation of SMAD levels is vital for maintaining proper signaling and cellular functions, as dysregulation can lead to various pathologies, including cancer and developmental disorders. With specific interaction with SMAD proteins, Smurf1 serves as a key player in the intricate network of cellular signaling, making Smurf1 (C-11) antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying these critical pathways.
