SMP30 Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SMP30 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SMP30 (G-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Senescence marker protein-30 (SMP30) plays a crucial role in maintaining intracellular calcium homeostasis by modulating plasma membrane calcium pump activity, which is vital for cellular function and survival. This regulation of calcium levels helps protect cells from apoptosis, thereby influencing cell longevity and health. SMP30 is predominantly expressed in the liver, kidney, and submandibular gland, with specific localization in hepatocytes and renal proximal tubular epithelium of the kidney. SMP30 expression increases during tissue maturation and decreases with aging in an androgen-independent manner, highlighting its potential role in developmental processes and age-related cellular changes. The promoter sequence for mouse SMP30 contains binding sites for various transcription factors, including Sp1, AP2, CCAAT box, Lyf-1, and GATA-1, indicating a complex regulatory mechanism that governs expression.
