Sm B/B′/N Antibody (12F5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sm B/B′/N in mouse, rat, human, and canine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Sm B/B′/N antibody (12F5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Sm B/B′/N plays a crucial role in the spliceosome, a complex responsible for removing introns from precursor mRNA, which is essential for producing mature mRNA that can be translated into functional proteins. This process is vital for gene expression regulation and cellular function, as errors in splicing can lead to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders. Sm proteins, which include Sm B, Sm B′, and Sm N, are integral components of small nuclear ribonucleoprotein particles (snRNPs) that facilitate this splicing process.
