SLU7 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SLU7 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SLU7 antibody (B-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLU7 plays a critical role in the mRNA splicing process, specifically during the second catalytic step where SLU7 is essential for the accurate selection of the adenine-guanine (AG) dinucleotide at the 3′ splice site. This function is vital because improper splicing can lead to the production of dysfunctional proteins, which may contribute to various diseases, including cancer. SLU7, the human homolog of the yeast step II splice factor Slu7, associates with the spliceosome late in the splicing pathway, ensuring that exon 1 is held tightly within the spliceosome for the precise attack on the prespecified AG. SLU7 depletion in HeLa nuclear extracts has demonstrated SLU7′s necessity for maintaining the integrity of the splicing process, highlighting SLU7′s importance in gene expression regulation and cellular function.
