SLPI Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SLPI antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLPI, an important enzyme belonging to the α-1 antitrypsin antiprotein family, is primarily produced by epithelial cells and is found in various bodily secretions such as parotid fluid, bronchial and nasal mucus, cervical mucus, and seminal fluid. SLPI plays a crucial role in regulating neutrophil-mediated inflammation by inhibiting leukocyte serine proteases, which are involved in the inflammatory response. SLPI′s ability to modulate inflammation is vital for maintaining tissue homeostasis and preventing excessive tissue damage during immune responses. SLPI has been identified as a target of regulation by interferon regulatory factor 1 (IRF-1), which can inhibit expression, highlighting the intricate balance of immune regulation. SLPI acts as a macrophage-derived inhibitor of the macrophage response to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) by suppressing nitric oxide production, suggesting a role in LPS tolerance and broader implications for immune system modulation.
