SLMAP Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SLMAP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SLMAP antibody (B-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The sarcolemmal membrane-associated protein (SLMAP) is a crucial 828 amino acid single-pass type IV membrane protein that plays a significant role in muscle cell function. SLMAP is primarily localized to the sarcolemma in non-replicating cells but relocates to centrosomes in a microtubule-dependent manner during cell cleavage in muscle tissues, highlighting its importance in cellular dynamics during muscle development. SLMAP participates in protein-protein interactions and is essential for myoblast fusion, which is critical for muscle growth and repair. Structurally, SLMAP exists as a homodimeric integral membrane protein featuring two leucine zippers that form a 77 amino acid coiled-coil structure, along with one forkhead-associated (FHA) domain. The coiled-coil structure is vital for regulating neurotransmitter release, N-type calcium channels, and membrane fusion, while the FHA domain is implicated in nuclear signaling pathways. SLMAP is expressed in eight isoforms generated through alternative splicing, further underscoring its functional diversity and regulatory potential in muscle biology.
