SEE ALSO...

SLM-2 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SLM-2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SLM-2 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLM-2 plays a crucial role in RNA binding and is part of the Sam68-like protein family, which is involved in regulating gene expression and cellular signaling pathways. SLM-2 is located predominantly in the nucleus, where SLM-2 participates in the post-transcriptional regulation of mRNA, influencing processes such as splicing and stability. Nuclear localization is essential for SLM-2 function, enabling interactions with RNA and other nuclear proteins to modulate gene expression in response to various cellular signals. Unlike Sam68, SLM-2 does not undergo tyrosine phosphorylation and does not appear to associate with key signaling proteins such as GRB2 and PLC gamma1, suggesting a distinct role in cellular signaling pathways. These unique characteristics make SLM-2 an important target for research into RNA metabolism and its implications in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
