SLC26A7 Antibody (14H5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SLC26A7 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-SLC26A7 antibody (14H5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLC26A7, also known as solute carrier family 26, member 7, is a 656 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the transport of anions, particularly bicarbonate and chloride, across the plasma membrane of cells. SLC26A7 is essential for maintaining acid-base balance and facilitating gastric acid secretion, functioning effectively at both alkaline and acidic pH levels. SLC26A7 is predominantly expressed in the cytoplasm of recycling endosomes within medullary collecting duct cells and in acid-secreting gastric parietal cells, where SLC26A7 is targeted to the basolateral membrane under conditions of hypertonicity and potassium depletion. SLC26A7′s structure includes 12 predicted transmembrane regions with internal N- and C-termini, which are vital for function as an anion exchanger. Additionally, SLC26A7 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms and is conserved across various species, including dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, and Arabidopsis thaliana, mapping to human chromosome 8q21.3.
