SLC25A11 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SLC25A11 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SLC25A11 antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLC25A11, also known as the mitochondrial 2-oxoglutarate/malate carrier protein, plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by facilitating the transport of 2-oxoglutarate across the inner mitochondrial membrane in exchange for dicarboxylic acids and malate. This transport is vital for maintaining the balance of metabolic intermediates and energy production within the mitochondria, as SLC25A11 is involved in key metabolic pathways such as the oxoglutarate/isocitrate shuttle and the malate-aspartate shuttle, which are essential for efficient cellular respiration and energy generation. Additionally, SLC25A11 contributes to nitrogen metabolism and gluconeogenesis from lactate, highlighting its importance in both energy production and metabolic regulation. SLC25A11 consists of 314 amino acids and features three solcar repeats, a characteristic structure of substrate carrier proteins that underscores its role in energy transfer within the cell.
