SEE ALSO...

SLAM Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SLAM of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SLAM (E-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLAM, also known as signaling lymphocyte-activation molecule or CDw150, plays a crucial role in T cell activation and proliferation by providing a costimulatory signal that is independent of the CD28 pathway. This is particularly important in the immune response, as SLAM enhances T cell expansion and lymphokine production following T cell receptor engagement with antigen. Additionally, SLAM interacts with SLAM-associated protein (SAP), which contains an SH2 domain that inhibits the recruitment of SH-PTP2 to the SLAM docking site, a process that is regulated by Fyn phosphorylation of SLAM . Notably, mutations in the SAP gene have been linked to X-linked lymphoproliferative disease (XLP), highlighting the significance of SLAM in maintaining immune system integrity.
