Datasheets
  • Siglec-5/14 Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ Siglec-5/14 antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 135-173 within an extracellular domain of Siglec-5 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Siglec-5 and Siglec-14 of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for Siglec-5/14 Antibody (E-1) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with Siglec-5/14 Antibody (E-1) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

Siglec-5/14 Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Siglec-5/14 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Siglec-5/14 antibody (E-1) is available as non-conjugated. Siglec-5 plays a crucial role in immune regulation, particularly in recognizing sialylated ligands, which are important for cell-cell interactions and immune responses. Siglec-5 binds both alpha2,3-linked and alpha2,6-linked sialic acid, facilitating its function in modulating immune cell activity. Siglec-5 expression on monocytes and neutrophils suggests involvement in immune response, while its absence in certain leukemic cell lines indicates a potential role in diagnosing and monitoring acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Siglec-14, predominantly expressed in hematopoietic tissues, lung, and testis, further highlights these proteins′ significance in various biological contexts. Diverse isoforms of Siglec-5, characterized by different extracellular domains and cytoplasmic tail lengths, underscore the complexity of regulatory functions in the immune system.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374585 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
