SEE ALSO...

SIGIRR Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SIGIRR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SIGIRR antibody (A-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SIGIRR protein, also known as single immunoglobulin domain-containing IL-1 receptor-related protein or Toll/interleukin-1 receptor 8 (TIR8), plays a crucial role as a negative regulator of the interleukin-1 receptor and Toll-like receptor signaling pathways, which are essential for the immune response. By inhibiting these pathways, SIGIRR helps to modulate inflammation and prevent excessive immune reactions, thereby conferring resistance to infections such as those caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa in corneal tissues. SIGIRR can form complexes with key signaling proteins, including IL-1 receptor 1, MYD88, IRAK1, and TRAF6, upon stimulation with interleukin-1 or lipopolysaccharides, highlighting its importance in immune signaling. This single-pass type III membrane protein is predominantly expressed in the kidney, lung, and gut, underscoring its significance in maintaining immune homeostasis in these vital organs.
