SEE ALSO...

Shc Antibody (PG-797) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Shc in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Shc monoclonal antibody (PG-797) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Shc plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in the context of growth factor receptor activation. Shc acts as an adapter protein that links activated receptor tyrosine kinases to downstream signaling molecules, facilitating the transmission of signals that lead to cellular responses such as proliferation and differentiation. Shc is known to interact with several key proteins, including GRB2 and Sos, which are essential for the activation of the Ras signaling pathway, a critical pathway involved in cell growth and survival. The ability of Shc to form complexes with these proteins underscores its importance in mediating insulin signaling and other mitogenic responses, highlighting its role as a pivotal player in the intricate network of cellular communication.

Can I use Shc (PG-797): sc-967 mouse monoclonal antibody for immunofluorescence staining of mouse tissue?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. Yes, this mouse monoclonal antibody can be used for immunofluorescence staining (IF) of mouse tissue. We recommend you include a secondary antibody control (omit primary antibody) to identify any possible non-specific staining from your anti-mouse IgG secondary antibody alone. Alternatively, please consider using one of the directly conjugated forms of this antibody for IF.

Can I use Shc (PG-797): sc-967 mouse monoclonal antibody for immunohistochemical staining of mouse tissue?

Asked by: cjMara
Yes. We recommend using either a directly conjugated monoclonal antibody. Shc (PG-797): sc-967 monoclonal antibody is available directly conjugated to either HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 or Alexa Fluor® 647. Alternatively, we recommend performing indirect staining using our recommended mouse IgG binding protein conjugated to HRP (sc-516102). https://www.scbt.com/scbt/product/m-igg-kappa-bp-hrp?requestFrom=search
