SGK Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SGK in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SGK antibody (H-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Serum- and glucocorticoid-regulated kinase (SGK), also known as SGK1, is a serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in the regulation of ion channels. SGK is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is activated in response to growth factors and hormones, which is vital for processes such as cell survival and renal sodium excretion. SGK′s localization allows direct interaction with various membrane proteins, influencing their activity and contributing to the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. SGK functions as a downstream target of phosphoinositide 3-kinase signaling, and activation is essential for the regulation of sodium transport in epithelial cells, particularly through the stimulation of epithelial sodium channels by aldosterone. The human SGK gene is located on chromosome 6q23 and encodes a 431-amino acid protein, underscoring SGK′s significance in both physiological and pathological processes.
