SGK Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SGK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SGK antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The serum/glucocorticoid-regulated kinase (SGK), also known as SGK1, is a serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in the regulation of ion channels. SGK is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is activated in response to growth factors and hormones, which is vital for processes such as cell survival and renal sodium excretion. SGK′s localization enables interaction with various membrane proteins, thereby influencing their activity and contributing to the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. SGK is a downstream target of phosphoinositide 3-kinase signaling, and activation leads to the phosphorylation of key substrates that modulate ion transport and cell proliferation. The human SGK gene is located on chromosome 6q23 and encodes a 431-amino acid protein that is essential for the regulation of sodium transport in epithelial cells, particularly under the influence of aldosterone.
