SEE ALSO...

SF-1 Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SF-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SF-1 Antibody (A-1) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Steroidogenic factor-1 (SF-1), also known as NR5A1, plays a crucial role in regulating genes essential for adrenal and gonadal development, as well as biosynthesis of adrenal and gonadal steroids, anti-Mullerian hormone, and gonadotropins. SF-1 is primarily located in the nucleus of theca/interstitial cells in adult ovary, where SF-1 is vital for proper functioning of steroidogenic pathways. Nuclear localization of SF-1 is significant because SF-1 directly influences gene expression by binding to specific DNA sequences, thereby modulating transcription of target genes involved in hormone production and reproductive development. This regulatory function underscores SF-1′s importance in maintaining hormonal balance and reproductive health, making anti-SF-1 antibody (A-1) an essential tool for researchers studying endocrine function and related disorders.

Can this (SF-1 Antibody (A-1): sc-393592 X) be used for detection in chicken with ChIP?

Asked by: Ellyse
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately this antibody has not been epitope mapped, so I am not sure if it can or can not detect chicken Pit-1. However, we would be happy to send you a sample of this antibody, sc-393592 if you would like to try it on your chicken samples! Please contact your local distributor, they will be happy to help get you the sample. You can find our distributor contact information here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/distributors

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393592 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
