SEE ALSO...

SerpinB8 Antibody (PI-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SerpinB8 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SerpinB8 antibody (PI-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SerpinB8, also known as P18 or CAP2, is a 374 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating platelet aggregation and modulating pathophysiological responses related to hemostasis and inflammation. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, SerpinB8 is expressed at high levels in vital tissues such as the lung, liver, heart, and skeletal muscle, highlighting its importance in various physiological processes. SerpinB8 belongs to the serine proteinase inhibitor family, which is essential for controlling proteolytic activity in the body, thereby influencing blood coagulation, complement activation, and tissue development. The gene encoding SerpinB8 is situated on human chromosome 18, a region that contains a cluster of serpin genes, underscoring the evolutionary significance and functional diversity of this protein family.

Can SerpinB8 (PI-8): sc-101371 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, SerpinB8 (PI-8): sc-101371 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
