Septin Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that recognizes Septin protein in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Septin antibody (E-4) is available in non-conjugated form and conjugated to agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants. Septins are essential GTPase enzymes involved in cytokinesis and exocytosis, playing crucial roles in cell division and secretion. Septin 6, widely expressed in cytoplasm, features an ATP-GTP binding motif and three nuclear targeting sequences at its C-terminus, critical for function and cellular localization. Septin 8 interacts with Septin 5 and cell division cycle-related 1 (CDCrel-1), suggesting involvement in hPFTAIRE1 regulation, a Cdc2-related kinase family member found in cytoplasm. Alternative splicing generates multiple septin variants, highlighting diverse cellular roles. Septin 10, Septin 11, and Septin 14 demonstrate GTP-binding and GTPase activity, contributing to cytokinesis and cellular organization mechanisms.
