Selenoprotein N Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Selenoprotein N of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Selenoprotein N antibody (A-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Selenoprotein N plays a crucial role in muscle development and function, and proper functioning is vital for maintaining cellular health and preventing muscle-related diseases. Selenoprotein N is primarily localized in the endoplasmic reticulum, where Selenoprotein N is involved in the synthesis and folding of other proteins, highlighting importance in cellular homeostasis. Additionally, Selenoprotein N contains selenocysteine at its active site, which is essential for enzymatic activity and antioxidant properties. Mutations in the SEPN1 gene, which encodes Selenoprotein N, have been linked to severe muscle disorders, including multiminicore disease and rigid spine muscular dystrophy, underscoring significance in human health.
