Sec5 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sec5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Sec5 antibody (F-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sec5 protein plays a crucial role in the mammalian exocyst complex, which is essential for the proper targeting of exocytic vesicles to specific docking sites on the plasma membrane, thereby facilitating the secretion of proteins and other molecules. This process is vital for numerous cellular functions, including cell signaling, growth, and tissue repair. Sec5 is one of the eight subunits of the exocyst complex, which also includes Sec3, Sec6, Sec8, Sec10, Sec15, Exo70, and Exo84, and regulation depends on interaction with Ral in a GTP-dependent manner. The human Sec5 gene is located on chromosome 6p25.3, highlighting significance in cellular processes across different species.
