SEE ALSO...

Scrib Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Scrib in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Scrib (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Scrib plays a crucial role in maintaining epithelial integrity and regulating cell polarity, which is essential for proper tissue architecture and function. Scrib is primarily localized at tight junctions in epithelial cells, where Scrib interacts with other proteins to ensure correct assembly and maintenance of these structures. This localization is vital because tight junctions serve as barriers that control substance passage between cells, thereby influencing processes such as nutrient absorption and pathogen defense. Scrib′s PDZ domains bind to specific sequences at the C-terminus of target proteins, facilitating localization of various epithelial determinants and contributing to overall cell organization. Mutations in Scrib can lead to significant developmental defects and contribute to tumorigenesis, highlighting Scrib′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374139 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
