SCNM1 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SCNM1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCNM1 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCNM1, also known as sodium channel modifier 1, is a 230 amino acid protein characterized by one matrin-type zinc finger, which plays a crucial role in RNA splicing factor function. Nuclear localization allows SCNM1 to influence sodium channel-related protein expression, impacting cellular excitability and signaling. SCNM1 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, with its gene located on chromosome 1, the largest human chromosome, spanning approximately 260 million base pairs and constituting about 8% of the human genome. Defects in genes on chromosome 1 are associated with several disorders, including Stickler syndrome, Parkinson′s disease, Gaucher disease, malignant melanoma, and Usher syndrome, highlighting SCNM1′s importance in maintaining normal cellular functions and potential implications in various pathologies.
