SEE ALSO...

SCML2 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects SCML2 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCML2, a human homolog of the Drosophila Polycomb protein SCM, plays a crucial role in transcriptional repression and is essential for regulating gene expression during development. SCML2 is predominantly expressed in the placenta, testis, and thymus, highlighting SCML2′s importance in reproductive and immune functions. Notably, SCML2 undergoes post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation by ATR or ATM in response to DNA damage, which can influence SCML2′s activity and stability. Alternative splicing of SCML2 results in two isoforms, allowing for functional diversity and adaptability in various cellular contexts. Anti-SCML2 antibody (G-1) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying gene regulation, developmental biology, and cellular response to DNA damage.

Can SCML2 (G-1): sc-271228 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, SCML2 (G-1): sc-271228 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
