SCAP Antibody (9D5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the SCAP protein of hamster origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). SCAP (9D5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCAP plays a crucial role in cholesterol homeostasis by acting as a sterol sensor that regulates the cleavage and activation of sterol regulatory element-binding proteins (SREBPs). Located in the endoplasmic reticulum, SCAP binds to the C-terminal regulatory domains of SREBPs, controlling their proteolytic activation in response to cellular sterol levels. When sterol levels are low, SCAP facilitates the cleavage of SREBPs at Site-1, allowing the N-terminal domain to translocate to the nucleus and induce the expression of genes involved in cholesterol metabolism. This regulatory mechanism is vital for maintaining lipid balance within cells, as dysregulation can lead to metabolic disorders. Anti-SCAP antibody (9D5) is an essential tool for researchers studying lipid metabolism and the intricate signaling pathways that govern cholesterol homeostasis.

This antibody is recommended for IP, WB from hemaster. Your sample band you showed is from CHO-K1 whole cell lysate. The comments say that this antibody is good in human Hep G2. So I Want to ask What tissue can this antibody be used for?
