Datasheets
  • SC Antibody (0.N.556) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against SC purified from human colostrum
  • recommended for detection of both free and polymeric Ig-bound SC of mouse, rat and human origin by IF and IHC(P)
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG1 BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for SC Antibody (0.N.556) for IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with SC Antibody (0.N.556) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

SC Antibody (0.N.556) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects secretory component (SC) in mouse, rat, and human samples through immunofluorescence (IF) and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-SC antibody (0.N.556) is essential for understanding mucosal immunity, as SC plays a critical role in the transcellular transport of polymeric immunoglobulins, specifically dimeric IgA and IgM, across epithelial barriers. SC protects these immunoglobulins from enzymatic degradation during their journey through epithelial cells. SC is generated when polymeric immunoglobulin receptors undergo proteolytic cleavage, and associates with immunoglobulin polymers to form a stable complex that effectively traverses the mucosal lining. The human SC gene is located on chromosome 1q31-q41 and encodes a 764 amino acid protein featuring five units homologous to the variable regions of immunoglobulins, along with a transmembrane region sharing similarities with certain immunoglobulin variable regions. SC monoclonal antibody (0.N.556) helps researchers gain insights into mucosal immunity mechanisms and SC′s role in protecting against pathogens, making this antibody valuable for studies in immunology and related fields.
