SAV1 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SAV1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SAV1 (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SAV1, also known as Salvador homolog 1, WW45, or WWP4, plays a crucial role in the regulation of the Hippo signaling pathway, which is essential for controlling cell growth and preventing tumorigenesis. Located in the cytoplasm, SAV1 contains one SARAH (Salvador/Rassf/Hippo) domain and two WW domains, which facilitate SAV1′s function as a scaffold protein. The SARAH domain is particularly important as SAV1 mediates protein-protein interactions, allowing SAV1 to bind to Krs-2, a key regulator that inhibits cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis. This interaction is vital for the transduction of signals that lead to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, as SAV1 is necessary for the nuclear translocation and activation of Krs-2. The subsequent phosphorylation of major tumor suppressors, LATS1 and kpm, is dependent on these processes, highlighting SAV1′s significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis. Disruptions in the Hippo pathway, where SAV1 plays a pivotal role, have been linked to various cancers, underscoring SAV1′s importance in tumor suppression and the potential implications of SAV1 dysfunction in cancer development.
