SAP 97 Antibody (2D11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SAP 97 protein of mouse, rat, human, and canine origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. SAP 97 Antibody (2D11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SAP 97 protein, also known as DLG1, plays a crucial role in synaptic signaling and is a member of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, which is essential for maintaining the structure and function of synapses. Located at the membrane-cytoskeleton interface, SAP 97 is involved in organizing protein complexes that facilitate intracellular signaling pathways, thereby influencing synaptic plasticity and neuronal communication. SAP 97′s interaction with other proteins, such as the tumor suppressor APC, highlights SAP 97′s potential role in regulating cell growth and maintaining cellular integrity. The identification of SAP 97 as a key player in synaptic function underscores SAP 97′s importance in neurobiology and relevance in studies of neurodegenerative diseases and synaptic disorders.

We recommend using SAP 97 (2D11): sc-9961 because it is overall a better clone for use in Western blotting, and IHC(P) applications. This is supported by the citing of the clone in over 25 publications.
