Sam 68 Antibody (7-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sam 68 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Sam 68 (7-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sam 68 protein plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and is known for its function as a substrate for Src family tyrosine kinases during mitosis, which is vital for proper cell division and signaling pathways. Sam 68 protein is primarily located in the nucleus and cytoplasm, where Sam 68 participates in RNA processing and transport, highlighting Sam 68′s importance in gene expression regulation. Additionally, Sam 68 interacts with several signaling proteins, including GRB2 and PLC γ1, which are essential for mediating various cellular responses. Originally identified as Ras GAP-associated p62, further studies have clarified that Sam 68 and Ras GAP-associated p62 are not antigenically related and are encoded by different genes. Sam 68′s ability to bind RNA and phosphorylation status are critical for Sam 68′s function as an adapter protein, linking Sam 68 to other signaling molecules such as Fyn and Ras GAP, thereby influencing multiple signaling pathways that are essential for cellular function and response to external stimuli.

Is this antibody indicated also for flow Cytometry?

Thank you for your question. Sam 68 Antibody (7-1): sc-1238 is recommended for detection of Sam 68 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and IHC(P). It has not been tested for flow cytometry. Feel free to contact our technical support directly to arrange for a free sample of this antibody to try it out in your flow cytometry application yourself.

I am using Sam 68 (7-1): sc-1238 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?
