SAF-B Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SAF-B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SAF-B (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SAF-B, also known as scaffold attachment factor B, plays a crucial role in nuclear matrix organization and regulates gene expression by binding to matrix- or scaffold-associating regions (MARs or SARs) on DNA. This interaction facilitates RNA polymerase II recruitment and serine-/arginine-rich RNA processing factors, essential for pre-mRNA processing and transport. SAF-B interacts with estrogen receptor, suggesting involvement in breast cancer biology, where SAF-B may influence cellular proliferation and division. SAF-B exhibits a speckled distribution in the nucleus under normal conditions but can be recruited to larger nuclear granules, known as perichromatin granules, in response to stressors such as heat shock.
