RYK Antibody (F35 P7 D7 F5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG antibody that detects RYK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). RYK (F35 P7 D7 F5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RYK protein, related to receptor tyrosine kinases, plays a crucial role in the developing nervous system as a chemorepulsive axon guidance receptor, essential for proper establishment of major axon tracts such as the corticospinal tract and corpus callosum. Notably, RYK contains two N-terminal leucine-rich motifs similar to the N-terminal domain of WIF-1, allowing function as a Wnt receptor. Upon binding with Wnt-1, 3, 3a, or 5a, RYK generates a repulsive guidance signal, vital for correct neuronal patterning. Absence of functional RYK can lead to significant developmental issues, including formation of contralateral axon bundles and disruptions in cardiac, skeletal, and craniofacial development, often resulting in perinatal mortality. Additionally, RYK is highly expressed in malignant ovarian tumors, suggesting potential involvement in tumorigenesis, making RYK a significant target for cancer research.
