SEE ALSO...

RPIA Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RPIA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RPIA (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RPIA protein, also known as ribose 5-phosphate isomerase A, is a crucial enzyme consisting of 311 amino acids that plays a vital role in the pentose-phosphate pathway by catalyzing the conversion of ribose-5-phosphate to ribulose-5-phosphate. This enzymatic function is essential for carbohydrate metabolism, as RPIA helps generate ribose-5-phosphate, a precursor for nucleotide synthesis, thereby influencing cellular proliferation and energy metabolism. RPIA is a member of the ribose 5-phosphate isomerase family and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 2p11.2. Mutations in the RPIA gene can lead to ribose 5-phosphate isomerase deficiency (RPID), a rare disorder associated with neurological complications such as leukoencephalopathy and peripheral neuropathy. Additionally, chromosome 2 is linked to several other genetic disorders, including Harlequin ichthyosis, sitosterolemia, and Alström syndrome, highlighting RPIA′s importance in both metabolic pathways and disease contexts.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with RPIA (D-5): sc-515328?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
