SEE ALSO...

RIP/Rab Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RIP/Rab protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RIP/Rab monoclonal antibody (H-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RIP/Rab protein, consisting of 562 amino acids, plays a crucial role in the HIV-1 life cycle by acting as a cellular cofactor that binds to the Rev activation domain, which is essential for the nuclear export and translation of incompletely spliced HIV-1 mRNAs. This interaction is vital because, without RIP/Rab, these late viral RNAs remain trapped in the nucleus, preventing the production of necessary viral structural proteins. The ability of RIP/Rab to facilitate the Rev response underscores RIP/Rab′s importance in HIV-1 replication, making RIP/Rab a significant target for research into therapeutic interventions against HIV.
