SEE ALSO...

RIP Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 465-671 mapping at the C-terminus of receptor-interacting protein (RIP) of human origin, detecting RIP proteins of mouse and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RIP, also known as receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 1 (RIPK1), is a crucial kinase involved in mediating apoptosis and necroptosis, forms of programmed cell death essential for development and immune regulation. RIP functions as a key mediator in signaling pathways initiated by death receptors such as TNF receptor 1 (TNFR1) and Fas/CD95, leading to the activation of NF-κB and MAP kinases, which are important for inflammation, cell survival, and immune responses. The proper function of RIPK1 is vital, as dysregulation has been implicated in various pathological conditions including inflammatory diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer. By specifically targeting the C-terminal region of RIPK1, RIP (C-12) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying cell death mechanisms, inflammation, and signaling pathways, aiding in the advancement of therapeutic strategies for diseases associated with aberrant apoptosis and necroptosis. Understanding RIPK1′s role in cellular processes is important for developing interventions in diseases where programmed cell death is disrupted.

RIP Antibody (C-12): sc-133102 Does this antibody also detect other RIP family proteins? Such as RIP3, RIP4,,,,,,, Thanks

Asked by: UW Madison
sc-133102 has not been validated to work in RIP3 and RIP 4. Here is a link for more information on this antibody . https://www.uniprot.org/uniprotkb/Q13546/entry#sequences

RIP 抗体 (C-12): sc-133102   Can this product be used in rats?Do your company have a suitable RIP1 Primary antibodies inrats?

Asked by: chenyg
Thank you for your question. The immunogen used for this RIP antibody, amino acids 465-671 of RIP of human origin, does not show significant homology with the rat sequence for RIP. At this time this is the only RIP antibody available, so we do not have one to recommend for detection of RIP in rats.

Can you recommend a positive control to use with RIP for Western blot?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend 3T3-L1: sc-2243, K-562: sc-2203 or MOLT-4: sc-2233 whole cell lysates to use as positive controls as we have great Western blot data showing specific detection of RIP in these cell lines.

What is the recommended secondary reagent to use with sc-133102?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. While most anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies are appropriate for use with our RIP (C-12): sc-133102, we recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
