SEE ALSO...

RIL Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RIL protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RIL (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RIL, or reversion-induced LIM protein, also known as PDZ and LIM domain protein 4, is a crucial 334 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in cellular signaling and development. RIL contains one PDZ (DHR) domain and one LIM zinc-binding domain, which are essential for interactions with other proteins. The LIM zinc-binding domain of RIL interacts with the second and fourth PDZ domains of Fap-1, potentially leading to RIL dephosphorylation, a process that may influence various cellular functions. RIL expression in human bone marrow stromal cells indicates involvement in osteoblast development and function, which is vital for bone health. Variations in RIL gene have been associated with an allelic dose effect on bone mineral density, a key factor in osteoporosis risk. RIL exists as two isoforms, with isoform 2 being particularly relevant in the brain, highlighting diverse roles in different tissues.
