SEE ALSO...

Rieske FeS Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rieske FeS protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Rieske FeS antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rieske FeS protein plays a crucial role in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, specifically as a key component of complex III, which is essential for cellular respiration and energy production. Rieske FeS protein facilitates the transfer of electrons from ubiquinol to cytochrome c, a process vital for ATP synthesis in aerobic organisms. Proper functioning of Rieske FeS protein is critical, as any dysfunction can lead to impaired energy metabolism and has been implicated in various diseases, including certain aggressive forms of breast cancer. Rieske FeS protein may contribute to the development of more aggressive cancer phenotypes, highlighting its importance not only in cellular respiration but also in cancer biology.

I am using Rieske FeS (A-5): sc-271609 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
