RICH2 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RICH2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RICH2 Antibody (A-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RICH2, also known as RhoGAP interacting with CIP4 homologs protein 2 or ARHGAP44, is an 818 amino acid protein predominantly expressed in the brain, where RICH2 plays a crucial role in regulating cellular signaling pathways. Specifically, RICH2 functions as a GTPase activator for Rac1, Cdc42, and Rho-type GTPases by facilitating their conversion to an inactive GDP-bound state, which is essential for maintaining proper cellular functions such as cytoskeletal dynamics and cell migration. RICH2 contains a BAR domain and a Rho-GAP domain, and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 17p12, a region that harbors over 1,200 genes, including key tumor suppressor genes like p53 and BRCA1. The integrity of these pathways is vital, as disruptions can lead to various malignancies, underscoring the importance of RICH2 in cellular homeostasis and its potential implications in cancer biology.
